The Panola Promise Program offers students the opportunity to request reconsideration of eligibility determinations in the event of extraordinary circumstances. An extraordinary circumstance is defined as a significant, unforeseen event that is completely beyond the family or student's control. Examples may include, but are not limited to, a death in the family, an accident, or a sudden extended illness.

This process is limited to GPA and volunteer hour requirements only.

Failure to meet senior year requirements, including scholarship applications and FAFSA submission, will not be considered for reevaluation, as these are time-sensitive requirements and cannot be granted retroactively.

Start a request if you did not meet a requirement at the end of:

  • High school year (for high school students)
  • College semester (for Panola College students)

.

  • GPA below the minimum requirement
  • Not enough documented volunteer hours (high school only)

  1. Complete the online form (link below).
  2. Upload supporting documents directly in the form.
  3. Submit by the deadline for your student type/term.

  • Official/unofficial transcripts
  • Medical documentation
  • Attendance records
  • Other relevant proof
  • GPA example: Include a current transcript, a brief plan to raise your GPA, and any documents that explain why you fell below the requirement.

If you submit an incomplete packet before the deadline, we’ll notify you so you can resubmit by the deadline.

Packets submitted after the deadline are automatically denied.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

High School Students - August 1 each school year

Panola College Students - Fall readmission: August 1

                                               - Spring readmission: January 1

                                               - Summer readmission: May 20

What happens next? A Reconsideration Committee (3–5 staff/faculty) reviews complete,

on-time packets and issues a decision of approval or denial based on your materials.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

One reconsideration request per student for the entire program.

Once you use this processes, you no longer have it to use later should you fall below again.

Your request must be submitted before the next school year/semester

after the one where requirements weren’t met.

Example: If your high-school junior year GPA drops below 2.0,

you must submit by August 1 before your senior year.

Missing this window means permanent ineligibility.
